South Texas Blood & Tissue will be hosting a special blood drive in honor of Erica Saucedo, a local businesswoman who was recently diagnosed with leukemia. The blood drive will take place at:

The Mosheim Mansion (409 N Austin St, Seguin TX)
Wednesday, April 24; 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Erica (31), a graduate of the University of Texas, is known in the community for her artistic talents and her unwavering passion for life. Despite her challenging circumstances, Erica remains determined to overcome her diagnosis with the support of her loving family. Since mid-March, she has been receiving medical care at MD Anderson in Houston, including regular blood and platelet transfusions to aid in her fight against leukemia. While she waits for a blood stem cell transplant.

In addition to her battle, Erica is also dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of blood donation and the marrow registry. She firmly believes that by educating people about these crucial actions, more lives can be saved. Erica's previous battle with breast cancer has only strengthened her resolve to make a difference.

"I love my life too much. I love my people too much. I love this planet and my fur babies way too much. And all the dreams I have yet to dream and realize way too much to ever let go of the tight grip of loving embrace I already wrap around the people, places, and wonders that make up this magical life of mine," expressed Erica.
